The Minuteman Household Hazardous Product Collection Facility is pleased to present the 2023 Household Hazardous Waste collection events! 


Pre-registration is required for all collection events

**Please note registration closes 24 hours prior to each event**


                 

Where: Minuteman Household Hazardous  Product Collection Facility at the Lexington Compost Facility

 9:00 am - 2:00 pm


Who May Attend: Only residents from member communities may attend these collection events. This includes residents from Arlington, Bedford, Belmont, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln, Waltham, Watertown and Winchester.

                                               


Residents may dispose of a large assortment of common hazardous household items.  These items generally include automotive products, household cleaners, oil-based paints, aerosols, batteries, pesticides, fertilizers, etc.

- Containers used for waste collection will not be returned to you


Please note there are also some items we cannot accept during these collection events:


UNACCEPTABLE MATERIALS AND HOW TO PROPERLY DISPOSE

Latex Paint - Allow to dry out (add kitty litter or absorbent) and dispose of with trash - contact hauler/providers for community specific instructions.

Alkaline Batteries - Dispose of with your regular trash

Asbestos - Contact a licensed contractor

Construction Waste - Call a private hauler

Explosives - Contact your local Fire Department

Fire Extinguishers - Contact your local Fire Department

Hypodermic Needles - Contact your local Police / Fire / Health Department

Smoke Detectors - Contact the Manufacturer

Small businesses can bring waste to the minuteman facility and will be charged via check for the amount, and type of waste they bring.

Important Collection Event Reminders

- Latex paint waste will not be taken

- Containers used for waste collection will not be returned to you

- Please remain in your vehicle at all times

- Please place all waste items in the rear of your vehicle

- Please present your form of identification upon arrival

- Please do not attend an event if you have COVID-19 symptoms or feel ill
